• Oct 2/07: Sorry for being so out of touch lately - it's been a hectic few months! I've just put up our October schedule and updated the calendar, too. As you can see, I'm (Lara) not running any classes other than my Parks & Rec class this fall, though I will have something special for you in the new year :o) And if you missed your chance to be Bozified last time, you'll have another opportunity to learn from this fabulous teacher - we're bringing Jim Boz back to the Island for the first weekend of March 2008. Don't miss it! More details to follow...
• Aug 9/07: Lara's August Amrikko's schedule is up.
• Jul 12/07: Lara's fall & winter Parks & Rec class schedule is now up.
• Jul 8/07: Lisa's classes start tomorrow through the Courtenay Rec Centre. It's not too late to sign up - you can do so at the first class of the session at 6:15pm on Monday, Jul 9th.
• Jul 7/07: Lara's classes are finished for the summer, the second session won't be going ahead but I'll be doing it again in the fall :o)
• Jun 23/07: Updated the events page with our July Amrikko's schedule.
• Jun 21/07: It's officially summer! Don't forget about the Summer Solstice hafla this weekend in Chemainus :o)
• Jun 17/07: Updated the events page. For information on Angelina's 8th Annual Summer Solstice Hafla (where Lara will be performing with Faith), click here. Please note that this is a women's only hafla, all ages welcome. Click here for a map.

• May 12/07: Thank you to everyone that made this event an incredible success! Those who were Bozified can now understand our enthusiasm for this amazing teacher and performer! I'll have photos up from the show shortly :o)
• Apr 16/07: There are a couple of upcoming events at the Errington Hall that will be a lot of fun for music lovers (click here for directions):
  • 8pm Saturday, April 21st - SARA MARREIROS IN CONCERT
    Sara's voice transports us to Portugal - to smoky bars and riversides. She takes us from delight to despair and back again with the music and the emotional scope she brings to her singing. Tickets are $10 and are available at Errington Store, Blasting Impressions in Parksville, Timbuktu Music in Qualicum or at the door. Coffee and Refreshments will be served.
  • 8pm Friday, May 11th - PIED PUMPKIN IN CONCERT
    They're still happening - Rick Scott, Shari Ulrich and company will light up the old Hall with their characteristic folky sound and great lyrics. Tickets are $15-$18 and are available at Errington Store, Blasting Impressions in Parksville, Timbuktu Music in Qualicum or at the door. Coffee and Refreshments will be served. After this, they're headed off on tour so catch them now!

• Mar 5/07: We won! Lisa & Lara had a blast at the Emerald Rain competition in Washington. And to top it all off, they came home with a 1st place trophy for the Sirens (duets) category for their tribal sword & drum piece. Thanks to everyone for your support, we appreciate it! I'll post photos in the next few days :o) - Photos now uploaded!
• Feb 26/07: I just posted a printable form for the Dancer's Bio & Agreement to send with audition videos. This is to give us information for the program and to cover all bases as far as releases for video & photos. At this time, we don't know if we'll be selling the videos to the public or just providing a copy to the show performers, but I figured I'd get the releases now just in case.
• Feb 18/07: Sorry for the huge delay! I've updated the Jim Boz page with more detailed workshop descriptions and also added a link to the registration form. I'll also be bringing some to the hafla tonight at Acme.
• Feb 17/07: added Lara's March Amrikko's schedule.

• Dec 17/06: added a couple new sites to the links page, including Shira's "The Art of Middle Eastern Dance" website. Updated the class & event information and archives. Also, don't forget about the Jim Boz workshops coming in May 2007! I'll post more details and workshop descriptions soon :o)
• Dec 16/06: Although I loved the Tempo Dance Academy studio, I'm looking at a different night and they don't have evening space available this term. I expect to start my continuation/beginner classes again in the spring. Prices will remain $100 for all 10 classes or $12 drop-in fee. To email for further information, please click here. • Oct 18/06: Hipsteria will be performing in Pacifica's 3rd annual Belly for the Beast show on Sat, 18 Nov. This fundraiser is for the Nanaimo SPCA and both previous shows were sold out. Get your tickets early!
• Oct 8/06: We have a date for the Jim Boz workshops and show! Gala show will be held at Malaspina University-College Theatre on Fri, 4 May 2007 with workshops on Sat & Sun, 5 & 6 May 2007, also at Malaspina...you don't want to miss this! More details to come...
• Oct 6/06: Amrikko's new location in Parksville is now open! Dave is a great supportor of local bellydancers. Click here for the poster; click here to see when Lara will be performing.

• Update 1 Oct 2006: Lisa and her husband are almost done their house and we're all eagerly looking forward to her re-entry into the bellydance world :o)
